a whole lotta knitting

the blog has been quiet for a while. The instagram is full. Now sitting down with a marvellous breakfast in the sun, in the middle of Berlin and actually updating the blog is nice. Realising though – there has been a whole lotta knitting. The last month, well year actually, I’ve started and finished about six projects. Six! Like big ones too. Shirts and pullovers and shawls. About to finish a seventh. Guys this feels like a lot when I read it like this.

Two of them are own designs, which will be live in a few days as well.

This feels totally insta-famous-hipster-lifestyle-like. Which is weird and kinda freeing, I maybe should do that more often. Also eating out for breakfast saves dishes at home too, totally adulting here ..

have a great week you all – and what are you knitting?

In the mood for..

…knitting and then again not so much.
Right now I’m working on a pullover, an enchanted mesa and I give daily updates on my¬†instagram, which is kinda motivating and fascinating at the same time. For once I get to finally see how much time I actually spend on one piece and also it’s amazing to see it grow, in pictures, even if it’s just a few rounds and when you have it on your lap it feels like nothing. You know this, not motivating at all. It’s mainly stockinette which is great for watching movies and traveling but not so much for keeping interest.

FO – cyclone the prototype

first – WOW – I’m so overwhelmed by the attention #cyclonehat received in such a short time!! Thank you so much on all the lovely, geeky, beautiful comments. Over on ravelry it was one of the “hot right now” patterns within 24hours (it got over 1.200 likes in 48 hours). I really have no words. I feel a bit of pressure – but that’s okay, life is fun!

Thank you so much!!

Now let me fill you in on the details on my Cyclone.

On new years resolutions – UFO busting in 2017 – part 1

Usually I’m not a big fan of New Years resolutions and I would not like to say I have some this year, but there is a plan for my knitting. Maybe two or three weeks ago I felt like making another cardigan, a red one, I think I’ve mentioned the plan before. However just having finished my Herbert Niebling blanket (Eichenlaub) which took like 5.5 years from cast on to bind off I realised I enjoy that “finish object high” – don’t you do too?

So, instead of casting on new stuff I decided it’s about time to bust that UFOs that are hiding in boxes behind sofas.

I will definitely also make new stuff, in my instagram feed there is a designer who just shared a hat
