The yarn and plan for this started one year earlier. Then in Sep last year I cast on. I did “daily” update pictures on my instagram. One I loved the progress documentation, two it motivated me enormously, three I actually was able to track how much time I spent with a piece like this (about 80 hours).
Batad – I love this pattern! Stephen, you truly outdid yourself with this one. A shawl that will not fall off your shoulders, hence perfect for offices and out and about times in the summer. This is my third. 3. Three are mine now, all different. This one is thicker, warmer, a little bit like an armour. It has this texture to it that feels secure somehow. And I’m often using it in the office when the colleague wants to open the winter windows…
In German we say “ein schöner Rücken kann auch entzücken” (A pretty back can be enticing too). And so I made a shirt, simple and plain in the front, the oooh moment in the back. Super simple really. I didn’t follow a particular pattern, just used my gauge to create this bottom up shirt. And of course a cute lace section to created the endearing back.
a shirt for summer, knit from linen, on small needles for a light airy summer feel all the way through. I’m enjoying this one, now that we finally have summer days again even more.
During summer I was knitting pretty constantly. I was lazy on the blog but never put down the needles longer than a few days in a row. Took my knitting with me on travels, knitted in the evenings with a good movie. The only time I didn’t knit was working time. (I do envy YarnHarlot here a lot, whenever I see her posting a picture of her knitting during a meeting, I want to do that in my office too. My colleagues would find that very odd and maybe even suspisous though. I’ll have to work on that…)
so let me teasing you… 🙂
