so now we’ve done May as well. It’s christmas soon 😀 are you already wrapping up gifts? hehe, me certainly not. The weather just started changing to summer mood and I love that!

 

My May was filled with a looooot of knitting, starting with wanting something in honor of Prince, then waiting for the yarn to arrive and using the knitting spirits to finish a cardigan that I had flying around for about 12 months. The ends still need to be woven in and it needs blocking but other than that it’s finished (you know what I mean..)

then the yarn finally arrived and I picked up the needles and didn’t finish til now:

it’s madelintosh prairie and it feels great to knit with. Soft and squishy and enough texture and a great yardage and the bestest colors in the world. Wonderful.

I also tried to find out which color to choose as the main color and what would suit me and my skin tone best. I went with the purple in the end and it was a good choice.

Also the pattern I choose is just wonderful. I wanted to go with Batad by westknits. This thingy is a little like a shawl and a poncho in one. I really adore it. In fact I started a second Batad just after finishing the first.

This second time I choose some colors which remind of the summer and the sea and beach. I also started with a lot more stitches so I will have a wider neck opening and the whole poncho will actually be more like a poncho and can be a nice over the shoulder drape.

My “purple hug” as I call my first one has a lovely snug fit and is a very cute little shoulder cover up but also excellent as a classic shawl.

 

Other than knitting May was strawberries:

finally!!! the strawberries from my favorite distributor have entered the market. And for the first time ever I have strawberries on my balcony and they start to be ready to snack 🙂

 

Other eating was soulfood in form of Milchreis (rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar) – a classic from my childhood and still one of my favorites.

And I tried “Pizzabrötchenfächer”. Quite popular hashtag among german food instagrammers. Basically it’s quick alternative for pizza buns. Check out instagram for the “recipe” a lot of people have made how-to pictures. Very easy, very quick, very good. Definitely will make this again.
